Upon meeting certain criteria, you may qualify for home health care under Medicare. Medicare generally covers part-time or intermittent skilled nursing visits, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aide visits, and medical social workers.

Who is eligible?

• A patient who has been referred by a physician for skilled services such as nursing or therapy; AND
• A patient who currently has Medicare.

What is Skilled Nursing?

Skilled Services

Skilled Nursing Services are prescribed by a physician to help with rehabilitation after an illness, injury, hospital stay, or surgery, or to help manage a chronic medical condition with the goal of preventing an unnecessary hospitalization. This care is provided through one-hour home visits from specialized clinicians and continues until recovery goals have been met.
